DAVID ROTUNDO ROCKS THE COVE FOR LAST
2 BOTR SHOWS OF THE SEASON
Happy Mothers Day! DAVID ROTUNDO www.davidrotundo.com and his great band showed why he has played more shows at BLUES ON THE RIDEAU at THE COVE INN, Westport ON than any other band over the 9 years this Series as been running. He puts on a fabulous performance, every time, and the crowd loves him! David blew harp like a man possessed all night long, sang, laughed, entertained, did his famous walkabout through the packed house and worked hard! Check out the sweat stains on his shirts in the pictures! David Rotundo leaves it ALL on the stage when he performs and that's why people love him. His excellent band included his old friend Des "Downtown" Brown on guitar, Michel Facen his Argentinian/Mexican/Dutch bass playing buddy who switched to drums for this show and James Rasmussen who split his time between bass guitar and keyboards. Multi-talented Cove Manager/waiter/musician Seamus Cowan joined them on stage on bass guitar for a number of songs too - much to the audience's delight.David doesn't play that many gigs in Canada anymore he's in such demand in other parts of the world. He spends his winters in Mexico and recently toured Ecuador, Estonia and Russia and he's on his way back there shortly. |

| So we are lucky to have him perform at BOTR @The Cove every year. Rumour has it he'll be back next May as part of the "Best Of" 10th Anniversary year. The Cove's delicious buffet included: Friday: beef skewers in chimichurri sauce with chicken breasts in lemon cream sauce. Saturday: the Cove's famous roast beef plus asian chicken w. peanut sauce. And the usual mix of roast potatoes, fresh veggies, salads, home made rolls and raspberry rhubarb crumble for dessert. Yum! Comments from COMMENT CARDS - there were lots of "fabulous", "great", "fun", "awesome" "amazing" etc on the cards from these 2 nights! "We've attended 5 of these shows over the years and always have a great time. Excellent service and food. And David Rotundo is fabulous! 10 out of 10 for everything". $1,350 was raised for Westport In Bloom and the Rideau District Museum bringing this year's total fundraising to just over $5,000. The total raised for local Westport charities now exceeds $50,000 since BOTR @ The Cove began 9 years ago. |
